What are the symptoms of Anxiety?

There are many different types of anxiety disorders but even within each type, there are so many different symptoms that a person can have.

A major myth about anxiety (and mental health illness/conditions) is that symptoms are only phycological. This is absolutely not true!

infographic titled Symptoms of Anxiety, with each of the symptoms outlined in caption on it, with each represented by an icon. Excessive worry is a worried face emoji, easily fatigued is a yawning emoji, muscle tension is a drawing of a muscle, sleep disturbance is a person sitting up in bed, irritability is a sign with an x on it, difficult concentrating is a bulls-eye with arrows off center, restlessness is a scribble.

Anxiety has both mental (phycological) and physical symptoms!

The main symptoms that tend to be common are:

  • Excessive Worry

  • Easily Fatigued

  • Muscle Tension

  • Sleep disturbance

  • Irritability

  • Difficulty Concentrating

  • Restlessness
