It’s National Eating Disorder Awareness (NEDA) week.
Eating disorders are defined as dysfunctional relationships with eating/food and sometimes exercise. There are several different types including anorexia nervosa, bulimia nervosa, binge eating disorder, ARFID, and orthorexia nervosa.
Eating disorders were already prevalent but they’ve increased during the pandemic. They have the highest mortality rate of any mental illness.
