How to Leverage Your University for Mental Health Support

Experiencing mental health distress can make a person feel alone, even when surrounded by people willing to help. Beyond academics, your university also offers mental health resources that you can utilize or become involved in to further promote mental health on your campus.

In this week’s Stronger Together module, we will explore some of these resources including advocating through student government, forming peer support groups, or accessing existing university initiatives such as psychological services and the student disability office.

Getting help can be difficult, but we hope to make it a little easier by highlighting these opportunities at your institution. If you need immediate help, please call your local emergency or crisis services.
