Niba Nirmal (she/her) is a multimedia science communicator based in Ramaytush Ohlone land (San Francisco, CA). She creates scientific content through articles, photos, videos, and social media . Her personal project @NotesByNiba explores the science in cosmetics, fashion, and skincare through YouTube and Instagram. She holds a B.S. in Genetics and Genomics from UC Davis, where she studied the effects of climate change on crops. She also holds a double-minor in Toxicology and Diversity Studies. She received her M.S. in Genetics from Duke University, graduating with the class of 2020. Her graduate work researched the genetics, form, and function of plant roots.
