Creating Space for Grad Students to Learn from Shared Experiences

Did you know almost half of PhD and graduate students struggle to maintain their mental health?

PhD Balance is a community creating space for academics to learn from shared experiences.

We want graduate students to be able to openly discuss and get help for difficult situations, from navigating academia to dealing with mental health struggles.

We need a new space to create resources and connect with others; a space where people can choose to be anonymous and feel more safe.

PhD Balance is that space.

We started with the goal of creating a collaborative community to discuss mental health in graduate school. From the beginning, we have focused on providing support, starting the conversation, and showing the faces of academics to increase visibility and awareness.

We will offer resources from webinars to monthly challenges, from worksheets to guides on talking with advisers. We will host conversation forums to discuss common, or uncommon, adversity and hurdles.

PhD Balance is dedicated to serving all academics in their endeavors to be successful.
